Jackson Street Tableau: What Bus Drivers Have To Deal With That They Didn’t Use To – UBER, Lyft, and Lots of Package Delivery

0

I’ll tell you, the (actual or soon-to-be) millionaires living at or near the highest-numbered block of Jackson Street, well they must be overjoyed that VC’s are subsidizing their dirt-cheap chauffeured rides home from the Financh in brand-new Lexuses, non?

Now back in the day, you’d have to pay more for a junky old taxi ride home, and then of course taxis were tough to hail, owing to longstanding SFGov / SFMTA policies, oh well. And look, here comes a Lyft Prius, going around the also double-parked DHL package delivery van, you know, now that we get lots and lots of stuff delivered.

Anyway, the DHL could have easily parked in front of a garage, as could have the UBER driver, you know, instead of double parking.

And of course yes we had taxis double parking back in the old days, and delivery trucks too, but now we have lots more vehicles to deal with – we have UBER and Lyft taxis and all those delivery trucks.

My point is that this scene from 2018 looks a lot different from 2008 or 1998…

Goofy Mervyn’s Heights Location Claims Another: RIP Geary and Masonic (Sort Of) Panera Bread Chain Store – 2015 to 2018

I just noticed that this place shut down.

I thought it was a bakery at first.

IDK anybody who actually ate something from here.

If you plopped me down at the Lucky Penny (also RIP) parking lot that’s actually at Geary and Masonic and gave me two minutes to run across traffic and around Target and through a loooooong tunnel to get to the door of E106, well I think I could make it.

Google Doubles Down on “The East Cut” After the New York Times Reports on the Error – But It Fixes Other Issues, Like Silver Lakes Heights, So Go Figure

I was thinking that this search return indicated that the made up name The East Cut had been removed from Google Maps…

…but I was wrong – it’s still with us, despite all the national mockery

Google did recently terminate Silver Lake Heights down Los Angeles way, after this widely read New York Times bit, so perhaps there’s a chance that Google might change its peculiar name for Rincon Hill, someday.
